We must learn to pray more as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are told in Ephesians 6 to pray at all times in the Holy Spirit. We are told in John 15 that if we desire to be fruitful for Christ’s kingdom, we must abide in Him. Jesus warns His disciples in Matthew 7 not to put obedience and kingdom works before worship and fellowship with Him.
We must learn that the starting place for any strategic spiritual endeavor must begin with and remain covered by intercessory prayer. According to Ephesians 6, our mission environment is spiritual warfare, so we must learn to fight a spiritual war with spiritual weapons, and our greatest strategy to advance Christ’s kingdom is prayer.
