Yahweh created everything that exists. He is Lord of heaven and earth, and he is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the First and the Last, he is God Almighty, and he loves his creation. God not only created everything, but he is intimately and intentionally involved in everything that happens everywhere. He is sovereign and loving, he is with us, and we can trust his plan.
The beauty of this story is in the pure mystery of a divine being breathing out a breathtaking mosaic of new life and infinite diversity. From the beginning, God designed creation to be enjoyed and for creation to enjoy him. God made mankind in his image, and our purpose is to experience his presence and obey his commands. God gave the earth and all living creatures to mankind as a precious gift. Creation is designed to be a blessing, and we are designed to worship God and care for the earth.
The Bible also teaches that Jesus Christ was with God in the beginning, and nothing God made was made without Jesus (John 1:2-3). We cannot separate the Creation story from the reality of Jesus as God. Use this story to share with your family, friends, and neighbors how this amazing, mysterious world came to be.
